The Volkswagen Type 2, known officially as the Trsnport, Kobi or Microbus, and informally, as the “Bus” (US), is a forward control panel van introduced in 1950. (Type 1 is the VW Beetle) The first generation VW Type 2’s were called T1. They were made from 1950 to 1967. They can easily be identified by having a split front windshield. The 2nd generation (T2) VW “Bus” was built from 1967-1979. The T2 version of the “Bus” introduced single piece windshields. The current generation (T6) started in 2015 and continues to this day.
This Motormax diecast model represents a Volkswagen Type 2 T1 gray delivery van. The van is highly detailed with separate clear plastic headlights, taillights, mirrors and turn signals. The wheels are free rolling and made of rubber.
