The Lockheed F-35 is an advanced stealth fifth generation fighter combining speed and superb agility. There are three variants; F-35A, B and C. The F-35A CTOL (Conventional Take Off and Landing) and has four internal weapons stations in two weapons bays plus three optional external weapons stations. The F-35B STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) variant while the F-35C is a CV (Carrier Variant). The F-35 will replace the USAF A-10 and F-16, the F/A-18 for the USN and the F/A-18 and AV-8B Harrier for the USMC.
On May 1, 2021 HMS Queen Elizabeth sailed from Portsmouth to take part in “Operation Strike Warrior/ Operation Fortis 2021”. This is the first operational deployment of the UK Carrier Strike Group since 2011. This is the largest deployment in the world of the F-35. It is also the first time the ship has sailed with a full complement.
This Hobby Master model is a replica of F-35B CF07 from USMC VMFA-211 “Wake Island Avengers” during deployment aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth participating in Operation Fortis 2021. As with most Hobby Master models this F-35B features engraved panel lines, antennas, surface details an opening canopy, a well-appointed cockpit (with instrumentation details), weapons complement, optional-position landing gear, authentic squadron markings, and a display stand.
