The B-25 Mitchell is a medium bomber named in honor of General Billy Mitchell, a United States Army general who is widely regarded as the father of the US Air Force. The B-25 is a two-engine propeller driven aircraft with an H-tail configuration and is considered to be a safe and reliable aircraft. It was used extensively during World War II by the Allies, especially on the Pacific Front.
This Daron postage stamp model is a replica of B-25J “Betty’s Dream” (Bureau Number 45-8835). The aircraft never entered service with the USAAF since it was delivered after WW2. She was flown in various commercial roles over the decades. From 1994 to 1999, the B-25 underwent restoration work. Her first flight after restoration was in March of 1999. Since restoration, she has flown as "Betty's Dream" The aircraft is based at the Dakota Territory Air Museum in Minot, North Dakota.
This is a worthy addition to your diecast aircraft collection.
