The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet is a twin-engine multi-role carrier-based aircraft. The “E” variant is single-seater while the “F” variant is a tandem-seat configuration. The “E” is a much larger, more advanced and more capable variant of the F/A-18C. The Super variant can carry a larger array of weapons as well as more of them and can return to the carrier while still carrying unspent munitions, a big savings in dollars. The first F/A-18E flight was in 1995 and began delivery to the USN in 1999.
Strike Fighter Squadron 137 (VFA-137), also known as the "Kestrels", are a United States Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet strike fighter squadron stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. Their radio callsign is "Falcon".
This JC Wings model is replica of Boeing F/A-18E (Bureau Number 165897) NE 200 displayed in “CAG” livery from Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 137 “Kestrels”. As part of Carrier Air Wing 2 (CVW 2) while on deployment aboard CVN-70 USS Carl Vinson.
As with most JC Wings models this F/A-18E features engraved panel lines, antennas, surface details an opening canopy, a well-appointed cockpit (with instrumentation details), full weapons complement, optional-position landing gear, authentic squadron markings.
This F/A-18E is a great addition to your diecast aircraft collection.
