At the beginning of the American Revolution, the Americans had very few artillery pieces scattered among various independent companies. Over time, their artillery arm grew significantly through captured British guns, contributions from France, and domestically produced items, resulting in a highly effective force. This success was largely due to Henry Knox, whose leadership brought professionalism and efficiency to the artillery.
The IMEX artillery set features four small cannons with 16 mm (1.15 meters) diameter wheels and 15 mm (1.08 meters) barrels, suggesting a 2- or 3-pounder size. The crew figures, dressed in typical period attire, include realistic touches like rolled-up sleeves. The set offers well-executed poses, especially the gunner with the ramrod, and is made from hard, poseable plastic. The sculpting is excellent, with detailed, well-proportioned figures and minimal assembly required.
This is a great addition to your diorama or miniatures gaming collection.
