The Guild of Mercantilers is often seen as an omnipresent, ever-vigilant force that protects citizens against criminals and the monsters that roam Malifaux. What few people realize is that this strength is a carefully maintained illusion. Protection of the people is a secondary motivation at best; their interests lie only in Soulstones, and each shipment sent back to Earth helps solidify their stranglehold over the world’s most powerful nations.
Dashel Barker
Dashel Barker’s meteoric rise through the ranks has finally landed him a position as the Commander of the Guild Guard. Dashel primarily acts as a summoner who calls in his subordinates to reinforce important positions on the field (i.e., Scheme Markers). Utilizing the Pursue Ability, which grants bonuses to their Actions when targeting enemies that have already activated during the turn, the Guard crew punishes their foes who aggressively attack them, while their constant reinforcements ensure that they are always at peak fighting strength.
Nellie Cochrane
The Editor-in-Chief of the Malifaux Tattler is focused upon two things: mobility and debuffs. The Journalists are never ones to give up on a story, using their wit and innocence in combat like a knife. Masters of propaganda, this crew is able to spin any story with their Ability Exclusive Interview which allows full control over the Interact Action within 2” of them, punishing their enemies regardless of what their plan is.Core Boxes are the recommended starting point for players looking to get into Malifaux for the first time or expand beyond their initial crew. In order to best combat each encounter within Malifaux, players are encouraged to pick up more than one Core Box within their faction, allowing them to change their playstyle on the fly.
