The Dodge Challenger is the name of three different generations of automobiles (two of those being pony cars) produced by American automobile manufacturer Dodge. However, the first use of the Challenger name by Dodge was in 1959 for marketing a "value version" of the full-sized Coronet Silver Challenger.
The first generation was introduced in the fall of 1969 for the 1970 model year. Chrysler intended the new Challenger as the most potent pony car ever, and it was available in a large number of trim and option levels, with virtually every engine in Chrysler's inventory.
This Welly diecast model represents a first generation 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A (Trans/Am). 2,539 Challenger T/A’s were produced only during the 1970 model year. It is highly detailed with separate clear plastic headlights, taillights, mirrors and turn signals. The doors open revealing the interior details such as seats, steering wheel, and instrument panel. The hood opens showing a detailed engine. The wheels are free rolling and made of rubber.
This model makes for a wonderful toy, providing hours of enjoyment or as a display piece adding to your diecast collection.
