This Welly 1:24 scale diecast model is a replica of an orange BMW 2002ti.
The 2002 is the sports car that helped BMW make a name for itself in the United States and at the same time, it sent BMW on the path of embracing the Ultimate Driving Machine philosophy. The BMW 2002ti first rolled off the line in September 1968. The 2002’s nomenclature has a well-determined meaning. The first two numbers reflect the engine’s displacement (two liters) while the last two refer to the number of doors (two). The 2002ti (Touring International) received two carburetors for 120 horsepower. It was also fitted with larger front disc brakes, stiffer suspension, and wider wheels. The 2002ti was replaced in April 1971 with the 2002tii.
This model makes for a wonderful toy, providing hours of enjoyment or as a display piece adding to your diecast collection.
