The MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam was the titular mobile suit of the anime Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. It was also featured in the sequel series Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
The Zeta Gundam marked one of Anaheim Electronics' earliest triumphs in developing a versatile Mobile Suit. This cutting-edge creation was conceived by Kamille Bidan, the latest addition to the AEUG's ranks, after assisting in the theft of the RX-178 Gundam MK-II units stationed within the Gryps Space Colony. Transformable in design, the Zeta Gundam can shift into a formidable aerial fighter called a Waverider. In Waverider Mode, it exhibits remarkable agility while retaining most of the Mobile Suit's capabilities, excelling both in the atmosphere and space. This dual proficiency provided a substantial advantage over other Mobile Suits, making the Zeta Gundam a pivotal asset for the AEUG's success during the Gryps Conflict. It continued to serve on the front lines during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, alongside its successor, the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam.
The RG Zeta Gundam represents one of Bandai's early models to incorporate pre-molded frame components in its assembly. These components cleverly blend rigid and flexible plastics to form sizable, articulated joint sections. Builders then complement these pre-molded parts with additional frame elements and armor. In comparison to its High Grade counterpart, the RG Zeta Gundam boasts twice the number of components, ensuring superior color accuracy at the 1/144th scale.
A great addition to your collection!
