This Hasegawa 1/72 Scale model kit is a great recreation of the Macross Frontier VF-25 Messiah. The kit includes parts and decals so you can select from Alto machine (F type) and Ozma machine (S type). The canopy can be opened or closed and one pilot figure in a seated position is included. The main wing has a bulit-in left and right interlocking gimmick and the engines vector nozzles can move vertically. As a bonus part, an air-to-air missile (3x6) + pylon (x6) for mounting on the underside of the main wing is included!
Macross Frontier is 2008 anime television series. It is set over a decade after Macross Dynamite 7. It aired in Japan on MBS from the 3rd April, 2008 to the the 25th September, 2008.
The series was adapted into two movies; Macross Frontier Movie: The False Songstress and Macross Frontier Movie: The Wings of Goodbye which later got their own side-story, Macross FB7 Galaxy Flow Soul: Listen to My Song!.
The new show celebrates the 25th anniversary of the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross TV series (1982–1983), and is chronologically subsequent to Macross 7 (1994–1996). This third TV series introduces Earth's latest main variable fighter, the VF-25 Messiah and a new ship called the Macross Frontier.
Introduced in 2059, the VF-25 Messiah is a cutting-edge variable fighter utilized by the New United Nations Spacy. Independently developed by Shinsei Industries, Macross Frontier Arsenal Original Development, and the LAI Corporation, it stems from the YF-24 Evolution prototype, aiming to surpass the VF-171 Nightmare Plus, the existing primary variable fighter. Distinguishing itself from its predecessors, the VF-25 features the Ex-Gear cockpit system, enabling pilots to endure high G-forces and facilitating wired or wireless remote control for the aircraft.
Equipped with a variety of offensive weaponry such as a gatling gun, beam cannons, laser guns in the head unit, and a close-combat knife in the shield, the VF-25 Messiah is a versatile variable fighter designed for multipurpose missions. Its adaptability allows customization based on the pilot's preferences and mission requirements. Through the exchange of multipurpose modules, the VF-25 can function as a fighter, attack craft, fighter-bomber, reconnaissance craft, and command craft for unmanned combat aerial vehicles.
The VF-25F Messiah is a variant of the VF-25 Messiah. The VF-25F has Improved Air Combat Ability. Alto Saotome who is the main protagonist of Macross Frontier pilots the VF-25F
The VF-25S Messiah is a variant of the VF-25 Messiah designed for team leaders built with enhancements to every system. The improvements to the VF-25S include enhanced engine output. There is also an assistance program for battalion and squadron commanders. Ozma Lee pilots a VF-25S as the SMS Skull Squadron Commander.
