The YF-29 Durandal is a high performance variable fighter first seen in Macross Frontier Movie: The Wings of Goodbye. It was specifically designed to counter the Vajra during the Vajra War and is a sibling unit to the VF-25 Messiah.
This YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie customized with the the blue and white colors for Maximilian Genus, as featured in "Macross Delta Zettai LIVE!!!!!!," is now available as a complete High Grade (HG) model kit by Bandai, including super parts. This kit takes advantage of the HG series' easy assembly and extensive range of motion, incorporating the "Shortcut Change" feature to simplify the transformation with replacement parts. The super parts are interchangeable, and the missile hatch and fold wave projector are accurately reproduced through part replacements. The booster nozzle features a telescopic gimmick, faithfully capturing the graceful curvature of the forward wings in Fighter Mode and the distinct silhouette in Gerwalk Mode. The Battroid Mode maintains its characteristic sleek bodyline, with expanded arm motion using pull-out joints in the shoulders and a triple-axis joint in the chest. The hip joint allows for dynamic and natural posing. Additionally, the clear parts utilize polarization molding in three colors, creating a changing effect based on light angles.
