The Tiger I is a German heavy tank of World War II used in Africa and Europe. The Tiger I first entered service in summer of 1942 and production ended in summer of 1944 in favor of the Tiger II. This particular model represents the markings of Tiger #142 that was part of the 501st Heavy Tank Battalion deployed to Tunisia in November of 1942. On Feb 27th, 1943, Tiger #142 was damaged beyond repair at the battle of Hunts Gap near Beja Tunisia and was later scuttled by the Germans.
This Tiger I is a great addition to a diorama or collection
