Achieve definitive historical accuracy for your North African campaign miniatures with the AK Interactive WWII DAK Soldier Uniform Colors Set. Part of the specialized Figures Series, this 3rd Generation acrylic set provides a curated selection of six tones engineered specifically for the tropical uniforms worn by the Deutsche Afrika Korps (DAK) in Africa and Sicily. These uniforms were widely utilized by German regular soldiers, paratroopers, and the Luftwaffe.
This comprehensive set provides a technical solution for the two most common tropical variants: Sand and Green. It includes a dedicated triad of shadows, bases, and lights for each, allowing modelers to replicate the varied shades resulting from different manufacturing origins and desert sun-bleaching. Utilizing AK's technologically superior formula, these paints offer high pigmentation and coverage while avoiding traditional clogging when used with a brush or airbrush.

Tip: Volumetric Tropical Shading
For the Green Variant uniform, utilize DAK Green Uniform Base (AK11427) as your mid-tone. Apply DAK Green Uniform Shadows (AK11153) in deep fabric folds and under webbing, then use DAK Green Uniform Lights (AK11428) on the highest points of the cap and shoulders to simulate intense Mediterranean light.
Recommendation: Customizing Sun-Bleached Tones
Desert uniforms often faded rapidly in the field. You can mix DAK Desert Uniform Base (AK11440) with DAK Desert Uniform Lights (AK11116) in varying ratios to create unique, sun-bleached highlights across different figures in a squad for a more realistic, varied appearance.
