A classic reissue kit ideal for display, dioramas, or nostalgic shelf builds—designed for hobbyists who value vintage style and subject matter.
Originally tooled by Revell in the 1950s, this 1:48 scale kit replicates the 1955 Chevrolet Two-Ton Stake Truck—part of the famous “Task Force” series that delivered passenger car looks with dependable truck performance. The real-life Model 6409 featured a 123-horsepower Loadmaster engine (with optional 140-horsepower Jobmaster upgrade), a Sweep-Sight windshield, concealed safety steps, and power brakes—all recreated in scale with Atlantis’ updated mold. With a 154-inch wheelbase and 85 square feet of bed space, this vehicle was built to haul everything from grain to lumber to summer camp kids across 1950s America.
Atlantis Models has updated the original Revell release by cutting an all-new clear sprue for the glass—a major improvement over the original—and providing fresh decal artwork and classic box art. The medium-blue plastic parts show some flash (as expected from vintage tooling), but cleanup is manageable and the build experience is rewarding. Included figures, barrels, and crates offer additional diorama potential for display builds.
Collectors of mid-century vehicles, Chevy fans, and modelers who appreciate classic Revell kits will find this Atlantis release to be a true highlight in the brand’s American automotive series.
