The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine propeller-driven heavy bomber designed by Boeing, which was flown primarily by the United States during World War II and the Korean War. It was one of the largest aircraft operational during World War II and featured state-of-the-art technology. The bomber’s first flight was on 21 September 1942 and was first introduced into service May 1944 The B-29 was retired in 1960.
This model represents Raz’n Hell, Bureau Number (BUNO) 461535 which flew with the 28th Bombardment Squadron, 19th Bombardment Group, 97th Bombardment Wing out of Kadena Airbase during the Korean War. The wheels of the landing gear are extended permanently and do not roll. The model comes with an all metal display stand that needs minor assembly. The actual Raz’n Hell has been restored and is on display at the Castle Air Museum.
