The VF-25G Super Messiah is a variant of the standard VF-25 Messiah, operated by the private military contractor SMS in the Macross Frontier series. Piloted by Michel Blanc, it is distinguished by its electromagnetic rail sniper gun pod and enhanced optical package housed in a specially designed head unit. The head turret mono-eye is specifically adjusted for sniping, making the VF-25G ideal for long-range engagements. This variant features a blue color scheme and is equipped with standard armaments such as head-mounted lasers, missile launchers, and a gun pod. It can transform between Fighter (jet), GERWALK (hybrid mode), and Battroid (robot) modes, providing versatility in combat situations.
The VF-25G's Super Pack enhances its capabilities with additional armor, boosters, and increased firepower, making it effective in both atmospheric and space operations. The advanced sensor and targeting systems enable precision attacks from a distance, while its agility and speed ensure it can maneuver effectively in battle. Valued for its capability to field heavy weapons in support of friendly units, the "G" variant was integral during the Anti-Vajra War, providing critical heavy fire support against the powerful energy-converting armor defenses of the Heavy Soldier Vajra.
Additionally, the VF-25G can theoretically use all the same add-on packs as the VF-25F, including the Super, Armor, and Tornado Packs. However, the Super Pack is typically used, while the other two are rarely employed.
