The Sukhoi Su-34 (Russian: Сухой Су-34; NATO reporting name: Fullback) is a Russian twin-engine, twin-seat, all-weather supersonic medium-range fighter-bomber/strike aircraft. It first flew in 1990 and entered service in 2014 with the Russian Air Force.
In September 2015 six Su-34 aircraft arrived at Syria’s Bassel Al-Assad international Airport at Latakia. Russia began aerial attacks on September 30 in the Homs region against the Islamic State. In October Su-34s used concrete-piercing bombs to destroy underground bunkers containing explosives and ammunition. The Su-34 targets were located using the GLONASS satellite system. In November 8 more Su-34s arrived in Syria. While in Syria the Su-34 maintained a 70% availability rate and gave the Russian Air Force an opportunity to sharpen their skills. Su-34 Red 21 was given serial RF-95002. Several of the aircraft deployed with their Russian Air Force Markings and Red Star Insignia painted over.
This Hobby Master model is a replica of Russian Air Force Su-34 (T-10B-2) “Blue 43” the second prototype used for flight test at Akhtubinsk, December 1993. Su-34 (T-10B-2) serial 41606430050 was built at the Novosibirsk plant NAPO Chkalov and completed its first flight on December 18, 1993 with Pilots I.V. Votinsev and EG Revunov at the controls. In 1994 it was assigned to the Flight Research Institute (Zhukovskly) and later transferred to a state flight testing center known as Valery Chkalov 929 GLITs VVS located north of Akhtubinsk where it took part in State sponsored tests up until 2010. That same year the aircraft was repainted with the normal Su-27 color scheme.
As with most Hobby Master models It features engraved panel lines, an opening canopy, a well-appointed cockpit (with instrumentation details and a removable pilot figure), full weapons complement, optional-position landing gear, authentic Soviet markings, and a display stand.
This Su-34 is a great addition to your diecast aircraft collection.
