This finely detailed 28mm metal miniature represents a vǫlva, or seer, a powerful female figure from Norse mythology and Viking history. In Old Norse tradition, the vǫlur were wand-carrying seeresses who practiced seiðr, spá, and galdr—forms of shamanism, sorcery, and prophecy. These mystics were highly respected, consulted by chieftains and even Odin himself to foresee the future.
Vǫlur played an essential role in Viking society, traveling the land with a retinue and offering their wisdom in times of crisis. Some noble Viking women also embodied Freyja, wielding magic to influence warfare and fate. This miniature captures the essence of these enigmatic figures, making it an excellent addition for historical wargaming, roleplaying, or display collections.
Sculpted by Shane Hoyle, this high-quality metal figure is supplied unpainted and in one piece. Painted example shown by Paul Cubbin. Base not included.
