Martha Jane Cannary, better known as Calamity Jane, made her way to Dead Man’s Hand alongside the legendary Wild Bill Hickok. Upon arrival, the town’s Dead Man’s Hand Chronicle announced her presence with the headline, “Calamity Jane has arrived!” Known for her remarkable toughness, Jane was not only an experienced Indian fighter but also an accomplished scout, making her a valuable asset in the wild frontier.
