During the 1930s, the German aeronautical industry developed civil aircraft for passenger transport or postal transport which could also be easily declined and converted into military versions. Officially intended for commercial aviation, the Junkers Ju 86 was a twin-engine low-wing wing which, in the bombing version, equipped the operational departments of the reconstituted Luftwaffe. The Junkers Ju-86 was used, similarly to the Heinkel He 111 and the Dornier Do-17, as a medium-range bomber and participated in the Spanish Civil War in 1936 as part of the Condor Legion. Thanks to its two Junkers Jumo 205 engines the aircraft was able to reach a maximum speed of 300 km/h and carry 1,000 kg of offensive load. The Junkers Ju-86 participated in the early stages of the Polish Campaign only to be replaced by more modern and current aircraft. In addition to the Luftwaffe, he was employed by the Swedish and Hungarian Air Force.
