The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole fighters. The fifth-generation combat aircraft is designed to perform ground-attack and air-superiority missions. It has three main models: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant, the F-35B short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant, and the F-35C carrier-based catapult-assisted take-off but arrested recovery (CATOBAR) variant
This Air Force One F-35A model represents #AF-01 from the 461st Flight Test Squadron “Deadly Jesters”, 412th Test Wing, Edwards, Air Force Base, CA. AF-01 was the first CTOL F-35 and completed it’s maiden flight on November 14, 2009. The aircraft started testing at Edwards AFB on May 17th 2010.
The model is highly detailed with fin flash markings, panel lines, and detailed cockpit. The model can be displayed with multiple optional configurations including weapons. The landing gear is optional, one can select to display the landing gear in its extended position or to cover the wheel wells as in the inflight position. Metal display stand included.
