The Tiger I made its debut in Tunisia in 1942. It fought on all fronts from 1942-1945 and was one of the most powerful tanks of WWII.
It’s powerful 88mm gun could defeat all Allied tanks at great ranges. The 88mm had a high muzzle velocity, flat trajectory and excellent gun sight so obtaining first time hits was relatively easy. It had very thick armour that gave it great projection, but this made the tank heavy and caused mobility, fuel consumption and maintenance problems. Nonetheless, right up until the end of the war the Tiger was much feared by Allied tank crews.
